My heart was ready for a dog before Famous came to live with me. Much like a parent expecting a child, I was wrapped up in “how to” manuals and name selection. Just shy of throwing a puppy shower, I made sure everyone knew a change was coming. Finally, I was notified of a litter born in the spring, and I received my first photo of the pups through an e-mail. With all of the pups being male and with the same coloration, I would not know for a few more weeks exactly which one would become mine.
I believe our trust in Jesus Christ to come into our lives without having seen Him in the flesh and grant us this inexpressible joy to be the evidence of an unbreakable bond which has always existed. Just as I had anticipated the difference Famous would one day make in my life without having seen him in person, the need in all of us for a Savior may be realized by opening our hearts and anticipating the love and joy He is waiting to give to us.
Jesus, I pray you will increase my heart’s capacity for trusting your future for my life.
