Famous is a handsome dog and worthy of my affections. He is a wonderful companion and a great traveling buddy. He is generally kind to most strangers and obedient to most commands. He can be funny and playful. He loves the outdoors in all weather. He has a quiet demeanor but can exhibit great speed and energy to chase squirrel or rabbit. He is intolerant of noisy crows, but does not seem to mind the ones just sitting in the yard. He is eager to please and quick to forgive.
I hope through these meditations to remind others of the true Source of Life. My intent is not to be boastful of Famous himself or to worship him but to constantly remind myself he is a great gift, as is all of creation. When we elevate the things we own or the things we desire above God we commit idolatry and sin against God. These things, and even my precious dog, will pass, but God’s eternal praise will continue forever!
God, You are the Source of Life, Creator of all that is good. Teach me to honor You all of my days.
