Famous shared a peaceful moment with me today, one of experience and presence. We shared a nap in the middle of the afternoon, in the security of our house with only a few feet between us. Famous was nestled in his dog bed with his head resting on the bolster. I grabbed a pillow from the sofa and stretched out on the floor before him. As we were about to doze off, Famous would stare at me while my eyes were getting heavy. Then I would watch him as he did the same. There is no doubt we feel comfortable with one another.
God’s love and presence allows us to know his protection and guidance. We have no need to worry as we rest in his sanctuary. The world may move in one direction or another according to the folly of people who have distanced themselves from God, but we have the assurance He watches us even while we sleep.
