Famous helps to raise my level of expectancy. I find myself always watching him to see how he will react, to try to understand what he is telling me, and to enjoy his beauty and his presence. Not only does he keep me alert to things in this world — the arrival of the mail truck, a squirrel running across the backyard fence, or the sound of geese flying over to the nearby pond, but he also heightens my senses to messages not of this world. His stare, his presence, his companionship often create the space for my meditation and for my thoughts turning to God’s word to me.
I have always loved this about Famous. How wonderful it is for God to supply the vehicles in our lives whereby we are quickly focused on his will for us! They point us to the most important gift given by our heavenly Father: Jesus of Nazareth, born in Bethlehem.
I will give thanks for all that reminds me of Your abiding love.
