“And immediately the rooster crowed the second time. Suddenly, Jesus’ words flashed through Peter’s mind: ‘Before the rooster crows twice, you will deny three times that you even know me.’ And he broke down and wept.” Mark 14:72 NLT
Famous sent out an alert to me yesterday. He was in the yard and noticed one fence post was out of place. It had fallen and had been placed close to its original position, but now it was leaning against the railing. It was one imperfection along the fence line, but he had noticed it.
He barked for a minute or two–at least long enough to get my attention. Perhaps he just wanted to tell me about it. Or maybe he wanted me to fix it. In most cases, he is placated when I assure him there is no need for alarm, but good job for telling me about it!
Is there anything in your life to warn you when you have forgotten to follow Christ? Do you have habits which repeatedly force you to deny the power of his transforming love in your life?
Help me to recognize my transgressions and to return to the path of righteousness.
